This is a great ‘treat’ bread to share with someone when you’re cozy on the sofa on a Saturday night. Melted cheese, onions, homemade bread, and bacon…who could ask for more? Give this one a try, go on Britain, you’ve earnt it!
Preheat the oven to 180C.
Fry the chopped bacon and onion in a pan on a low heat until the bacon is crisp. Place on kitchen towel to drain and cool. Place the cheese and olive oil to a large bowl and add the cooled bacon and onion and mix well.
Cut the bread dough into approx. 20 small pieces. Knead bacon mix into 10 of the dough pieces, leaving some mix aside to sprinkle on top of bread. On a lined baking tray alternate the bacon dough and plain dough into a round and sprinkle the top of the bread with remaining bacon and cheese mix.
Bake in the oven for approx. 20 minutes or until golden.
